It was a baseball summer

One minute you are chasing toddlers, safely tucking them under your arm. And then you blink, and when you hug them, they no longer fit under your chin, let alone your arm. Casually transitioning hugs to their arms on top, wrapping around your shoulders and stepping on your toes in their man-sized cleats.

Baseball took us over this summer (and Spring) and it was exhausting, and glorious.

From the first rainy practice, to the final pitch. First in the park homer, and first one over the fence. First immaculate inning (and a few messy ones along the way.) Wins and lessons.

And the season ending MVP trophy from his teammates to sweeten the whole thing.
